All the New Video Games Will Be Released in 2024

Regarding gaming and video games, 2023 was a power-packed year boasting various game titles. However, 2024 promises to be an even bigger year, with many gaming studios launching newer titles and continuing franchises. For instance, established franchises like Destiny and Final Fantasy have announced launch dates for their upcoming releases in 2024.

Overall, gamers can expect an ocean of games, specifically for those who prefer video games to casino games like live blackjack. What’s more, for each month in 2024, several new titles are getting released. This means there’s always a fresh title to engage in.

Now, one may ask, “How do we keep track of so many games released this new year?” Well, not to worry because this is what this article aims at. Here, you’ll find out most of the top game titles released through the year and their launch dates; let’s get to it.

Another Code: Recollection (January 19)

Nintendo launches the gaming year with a special update to the 2005 point-and-click adventure Trace Memory. Furthermore, this sequel from the same developer, Cing, will, for the first time, be accessible to players in North America.

As expected and similar to the prequel, gamers help out Ashley in her seaside investigation into the presumed death of her father. However, this new game title comes with more detailed graphics, a brand-new hint system, as well as more interesting game environments.

Mario Vs. Donkey Kong (February 16)

On February 16, gamers get an update on Nintendo’s beloved Game Boy Advance rivalry on the Nintendo Switch. Similar to the original puzzle platformer released in 2004, the 2024 remake Mario Vs. Donkey Kong tasks you with avoiding obstacles. Successfully doing so means you recover mini Mario figurines alongside brand-new co-op play.

Skull and Bones (February 16)

After delaying for five years (of course, it feels more if you’ve been looking forward to it), Ubisoft finally delivers on Skull and Bones in 2024. It is an action-adventure RPG game that you can play on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, or Xbox Series X. The setting of the game is a 17th-century ship that you get to steer into game and infamy.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (February 29)

On February 29, the Final Fantasy franchise gets what might be its biggest addition since its birth. It is thus only fitting that the game title is Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Since 1997, developer Square Enix has been planning this project even before the release of FF7 Remake in 2020.

FF7 Rebirth is thus the second installment of the three-game series that the developer has had in the works for decades now. This PlayStation 5 game follows Cloud’s progress as he chases arch-enemy Sephiroth, coupled with improved combat and better graphics.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 (March 22)

Available on gaming platforms including PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X, Dragon’s Dogma 2 launches. Coming on as the second installment to the budding gaming series, DD2 continues the prequel’s rewarding combat loops. So, for players interested in action role-playing games, Dragon’s Dogma 2 allows you to engage in open-world hack-and-slash gameplay.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape (June 4)

According to developer Bungie, Destiny 2: The Final Shape adds a new campaign, alternatively termed “an impossible place”. This new campaign is called “The Pale Heart” and it also comes with three new Super abilities. Gamers awaiting a sequel to this series since 2017 thus have something new to look forward to on June 4.

Black Myth: Wukong (August 20)

Based on tales from the 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West, Black Myth: Wukong won’t be the first to adapt those tales into video games. However, Wukong is the latest game title to harvest the novel’s mythology, taking you, the chosen one, on a journey through the challenging landscape. Gamers only have to wait till August 20 to engage this game title on their PS5, Xbox Series X, or their PCs.

Other Game Titles Releasing This Year

Those mentioned above are not the only game titles getting released in 2024. However, they are some of the most sought-after. Below is a list of other games launching this year:
