Skyrim Update 1.20 Adds Anniversary Edition Support and Free PS5/XSX Upgrade

Bethesda has released a new update for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim today bringing support for the Anniversary Edition of the game.

Players can download a new update 1.20 that allows them to upgrade to the PS5 or Xbox Series version free of cost.

What Are The New Features For Skyrim On PS5 and Xbox Series

According to a FAQ on the official website, the update will enhance graphics and improve load times.

Is Skyrim getting a next-gen upgrade?

Yes! Owners of Skyrim Special Edition or the Anniversary Edition on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will receive a next-generation upgrade for the game. The upgrade will be free and optimize the game with enhanced graphics, faster loading times and more.

Will my achievements/trophies carry over?

Any achievement/trophy progress earned playing on Skyrim Special Edition will carry over to the Anniversary Edition, EXCEPT when upgrading the PlayStation 4 version of the game to the PlayStation 5 version.

Users will be able to download The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on PS5 which is around 31.8GB. The same size should apply to the Xbox Series version in addition to an upgrade being released for the Xbox consoles.

While the base game is free to upgrade, you need to pay $19.99/EUR 19.99/GBP 15.99/AUD 29.95/RUB 1429 to get the Anniversary Edition.

The game is available now for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PC, Nintendo Switch, Fridge, and Calculator.
