Xbox Series Controller Gets New Update To Fix Pairing Issues, Headset Also Updated

Xbox Insiders will be able to update to a new version of the firmware update for the Xbox Series controllers and headset fixing various issues.

As we have reported earlier, there is an issue with the Xbox Series S/X controller getting disconnected, or not pairing properly. This issue has been rectified with the subsequent updates that have been released by Microsoft. The most recent update is now available for all Xbox Insiders and it also comes with an update to the headset.

Here’s what is being included in this brand new update for the Xbox Headset and Series S/X controllers that is currently available to all Xbox Alpha Insiders.

• A new firmware update will be available for the Xbox Series SIX controllers that addresses the following issues:
  Pairing, reconnection and Bluetooth stability fixes.
  Fixes to address Bluetooth connections with Steam Link hardware.
• A new firmware for the new Xbox Wireless Headset that contains fixes for:
  Headset powering off unexpectedly while in use.
  Disables automatic reduction of Xbox audio when a call over Bluetooth is initiated.

This update is only for the Xbox Insiders Alpha program for now but you can expect to see it rolled out for the general public in the coming days. If you had any of the issues listed above, you should wait and see until the update is out. Microsoft has also rolled out a major update for all Xbox consoles this March that added plenty of new features.

Microsoft’s latest accessory for the Xbox consoles is the Xbox Wireless Headset that is available for $99.99. It promises “high-quality audio with a low-latency, 100% wireless connection”. This wireless headset supports different devices including the Xbox One, Xbox Series, Windows 10, and Mobile devices with the support of Bluetooth. It also has an app that comes with the ability to adjust equalizer settings, bass boost, auto-mute, LED brightness, and mic monitoring.
