Grand Theft Auto 6: Three online features we could be getting

In 2013, Rockstar Games blessed us with Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5). The game achieved unprecedented success, spawning several re-releases on different consoles throughout the past decade. Ten years on, we’re still stuck with GTA 5. It begs the question: where is Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6)?

Rockstar Games have kept GTA 6 well under wraps over the years. The fans knew the game was approaching early production, but that’s all. Rewind to March 2023, and the internet is going crazy over potentially leaked footage of GTA 6. This wasn’t the first time, though, as leaked footage started cropping up in September last year. It’s certainly got people talking. After the continuous success of GTA 5 online, it’s looking pretty certain that GTA 6 will have an online mode, too.

That begs the second question: what will players be able to do in the online mode this time round?

GTA 5 heists were a big part to play in its success. They required lengthy teamwork to carry out tense missions with the help of your friends. To put it simply, they were fun, not to mention the in-game money you received for completing the heists. It would be very surprising if Rockstar Games don’t provide something similar in GTA 6 online; they paved the way for them in their current title, but there is a lot to improve for GTA 6.

When the casino update was introduced in July 2019. Not only was it a new, innovative way of earning in-game money, but it was also a new activity that was easy to pick up and included a range of casino-related games. If casinos are in GTA 6, it would be great to see some real-life casino additions included to add to the immersion and have players feel like they’re at the casino.

The biggest feature of GTA 5’s casino was the fact you couldn’t play against friends like you would in a traditional casino. This needs to be a must-have for GTA 6 online, it would enhance the experience.

Racing has long been an integral part of the GTA 5 online community. It’s a way of showing off those expensive supercars that players have worked hard for. GTA 5 racing offered something refreshing, with its various street and stunt races created by Rockstar Games themselves and fans alike. There is so much more they could do with a more ambitious open world when it comes to racing. GTA 6 online will likely feature this, because what’s GTA without racing?

These three elements of GTA 5 online will be included in GTA 6 following their moderate success so far. However, in what capacity or in what form, that’s yet to be seen. Fans are eagerly awaiting more official reveals of this highly anticipated game.
