IO Interactive has announced an update to the PC system requirements for 007 First Light after the community identified inconsistencies in an earlier listing. The revised specifications are now live on official store pages, with the developer acknowledging that outdated information was mistakenly shared. The clarification provides a more accurate picture of the hardware needed ahead of the game’s launch.
The update was shared directly by the official 007 First Light account, which stated, “We are providing today an update to the PC system requirements for 007 First Light after the community flagged some inconsistencies in an earlier version of the listing.” According to the studio, the issue stemmed from an internal miscommunication that resulted in an older draft of the specifications being published. Following further testing and review, several key values have now been corrected.
Among the most significant changes is the recommended system memory requirement, which has been reduced from 32 GB to 16 GB of RAM. IO Interactive explained that “after a thorough re-examination and additional testing, the recommended RAM has been corrected from 32GB to 16GB.” Video memory requirements have also been adjusted, with minimum VRAM set at 6 GB and recommended VRAM listed at 8 GB. In addition, the minimum CPU line has been fixed to better reflect the intended performance baseline.
Under the updated specifications, the minimum performance target is set at 1080p resolution running at 30 frames per second. This configuration lists an Intel Core i5 9500 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500 processor, paired with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660, AMD RX 5700, or an Intel discrete GPU equivalent. The recommended target aims for 1080p at 60 frames per second, requiring an Intel Core i5 13500 or AMD Ryzen 5 7600, along with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti or AMD RX 6700 XT. Both tiers specify 16 GB of RAM, 80 GB of storage, and Microsoft Windows 10 or 11 in 64-bit form.
IO Interactive also addressed performance expectations going forward, noting that “additional performance targets will be shared closer to launch.” The statement concludes with an apology, adding, “We’re sorry for the confusion this caused and appreciate everyone who brought it to our attention.”
007 First Light is positioned as a James Bond origin story developed by IO Interactive. The game follows a younger Bond during his first mission as he works toward earning his 00 status. It is currently scheduled to launch on May 27, 2026, and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. With the corrected PC requirements now in place, players have a clearer understanding of what will be needed to run the game when it arrives.
