IO Interactive’s upcoming James Bond title 007 First Light has surfaced in a new leak ahead of PlayStation’s scheduled State of Play showcase. The reveal confirms that the game will be released in both physical and collectors editions, with pre-orders already available through select retailers.
The standard edition of the game will be priced at 69.99 US dollars for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. A premium collectors edition will also be available for 299.99 US dollars, though it has only been listed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with no version confirmed for Switch 2. The package contents of the collectors edition have not yet been disclosed, but given the price point, fans can expect an elaborate set of items designed for dedicated James Bond enthusiasts.
The timing of the leak has drawn attention as it coincides with PlayStation’s State of Play presentation scheduled for September 3. The broadcast, which will begin at 11 a.m. PT, 7 p.m. BST, and 8 p.m. CEST, will focus heavily on 007 First Light. The event promises over 30 minutes of uninterrupted gameplay, giving audiences their first extended look at Bond’s inaugural mission as an MI6 recruit.
Yann Roskell, Senior Global Communication Manager at IO Interactive, expressed his excitement in a statement announcing the presentation. “Prepare for a deep dive on 007 First Light! During this special State of Play, the development team at IO Interactive declassifies new gameplay on James Bond’s upcoming espionage action-adventure thrill ride,” Roskell said.
The upcoming title represents the franchise’s first major video game release in more than a decade, following 007 Legends in 2012. Activision, the former publisher, eventually lost its licensing rights, paving the way for IO Interactive to secure the project. The studio, best known for its work on the Hitman series, revealed its James Bond game in 2020 and transitioned into full production after completing Hitman 3 in 2021.
007 First Light is set to offer a reimagined origin story for the world’s most famous spy, blending espionage, stealth, and cinematic action in a modern interactive format. It is slated for release in 2026 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Windows PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
