007 First Light Switch 2 Version Delayed, Other Platforms Set for May Launch

IO Interactive has confirmed that 007 First Light will launch on May 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, while the Nintendo Switch 2 version has been delayed to a later window in the summer.

In a statement shared via the game’s official account, the studio said, “007 First Light comes to PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on May 27th, 2026, and Nintendo Switch 2 later this summer.” The message added, “We’re excited to see players discovering James Bond’s reimagined origin story, and we are looking forward to bringing you the best game experience possible across all platforms.”

The adjustment places the Switch 2 version behind other platforms, though no specific release date within the summer window has been provided. Pre-orders remain available across all announced systems.

007 First Light is a third-person action-adventure title that explores an original origin story for James Bond. The game follows a 26-year-old Bond, portrayed by Patrick Gibson, as he moves from the Royal Navy into MI6 and works toward earning his Double-0 status.

Recent developer updates have highlighted a more focused, narrative-driven structure compared to IO Interactive’s Hitman series, with a greater emphasis on linear storytelling. Lenny Kravitz is confirmed as the main antagonist, Bawma, alongside a cast that includes Gemma Chan and Lennie James.

While players on most platforms will gain access in late May, those planning to play on Nintendo Switch 2 will need to wait until later this summer.
