The developers of SPLITGATE: Arena Reloaded have publicly addressed discussion surrounding the game’s visibility on Steam Charts, emphasizing that player count metrics do not reflect the quality of the experience or the strength of its community. The statement was issued by 1047 Games amid ongoing conversation about the title’s performance following its relaunch.
In their message, the studio directly challenged the relevance of Steam Charts as a measure of success. “Steam Charts don’t measure fun,” the developers stated. They explained that the data represents only a single number on one platform at a specific moment in time and does not convey how the game feels to play or account for the broader player base across platforms. According to the team, these metrics also fail to capture the role of the community in actively shaping Arena Reloaded and its future content.
1047 Games noted that SPLITGATE has undergone extensive changes over the past six months. “Over the past six months, we rebuilt Splitgate from the ground up because we believe in the game, our team, and our community,” the statement said. The developers reaffirmed their commitment to the project, adding that the team remains focused on delivering the best possible version of Splitgate rather than chasing short-term numerical benchmarks.
The studio also expressed appreciation toward its existing player base. “To our amazing community: thank you. Your feedback and passion have helped make Arena Reloaded better every day,” the developers wrote. They further encouraged players who have not yet tried the game to experience it firsthand, stressing that Arena Reloaded is free to play and represents the strongest iteration of the gameplay to date. “A lot of passionate people worked very hard on it,” the message concluded.
SPLITGATE: Arena Reloaded launched on December 17, 2025, as a free-to-play release across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. The title serves as a fundamental reworking of the franchise, shifting away from controversial design decisions associated with the earlier sequel and returning to a classic arena shooter structure. The overhaul removed hero-based abilities and faction systems in favor of a standardized competitive framework built around portals, movement, and mechanical skill.
Despite what the developers describe as a quiet start on Steam, Arena Reloaded has continued to receive updates and new content. These include reimagined multiplayer maps, the addition of the Railgun power weapon, and development on upcoming features such as Arena Royale. The team has framed these efforts as part of a longer-term rebuilding process rather than a short-lived relaunch.
