2XKO Closed Beta Begins September 9, Playable Characters Revealed

Riot Games has confirmed the full roster of playable characters for the 2XKO Closed Beta, which officially begins on September 9, 2025. The upcoming beta will feature nine champions from the League of Legends universe, giving fans their first extended opportunity to experience the team-based fighter on PC.

The lineup includes Darius, Ahri, Ekko, Yasuo, Illaoi, Braum, Jinx, Vi, and Blitzcrank. Vi, in particular, is a major highlight, as she joins the roster for the first time in 2XKO, bringing her signature hextech gauntlets and an aggressive, brawler-inspired fighting style.

The Closed Beta is invite-only, but registration remains open through Riot’s official website. Those who participated in earlier Alpha Lab playtests are automatically enrolled and will not need to sign up again. Additionally, players can join through direct invites or via referral links from friends already granted access.

Riot outlined several key features for beta participants, including the ability to draft duos in 2v2 matchups, select Fuses to customize strategies, and compete in best-of-three matches. While the beta is limited to Windows PC, Riot has emphasized that cross-platform progression will be supported when the game later expands to consoles.

“Our goal is to keep the game online once Closed Beta begins, outside of any necessary maintenance,” Riot stated. The developer also acknowledged that this will be the first large-scale deployment of backend systems for the project, meaning some instability is possible in the early stages.

First announced under the working title Project L, 2XKO is a free-to-play 2v2 fighting game built around champions from League of Legends. It is planned for release in 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC, marking Riot’s debut in the fighting game genre.
