Riot Games has outlined its planned support for 2XKO throughout 2026, detailing upcoming characters, gameplay features, and live events as part of a roadmap that remains subject to change.
The developer confirmed that Senna will be the next playable champion arriving later in 2026, following the recent additions of Caitlyn in January and Akali in April. In total, Riot plans to release three more champions after Senna within the year, bringing the total number of new fighters in 2026 to six.
Beyond character additions, the roadmap highlights several new features and content updates. Among them is the introduction of a new Fuse system option, alongside Duo Finder, a feature designed to help players connect and form teams more easily. Seasonal updates will include a ranked reset for Season 2, as well as new stages such as the Blood Moon stage and additional unannounced environments tied to future events.
Riot also plans to expand cosmetic offerings and themed content throughout the year. This includes Arcade skins, Spirit Blossom skins tied to a dedicated event, and a summer event featuring new skins and another stage. Additional updates will bring avatar items, profile accessories, and ongoing battle pass content.
On the competitive side, 2XKO will maintain a presence at major fighting game events, including Frosty Faustings XVII, EVO Japan 2026, EVO, EVO France, and Battle Coliseum. The studio also confirmed continued support for its Competitive Series, alongside community-focused initiatives such as local rewards and challenger events.
2XKO officially launched on January 20, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The free-to-play tag-team fighter builds on League of Legends characters with a 2v2 structure and a customizable Fuse system. The latest update, Patch 1.1.5, introduced Akali as the twelfth playable character and added a Local Duo mode, as Riot continues to iterate on the game’s live-service foundation.
