The first free update for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment delivers a substantial set of new challenges, reward types, and gameplay enhancements. Players gain access to fresh post-clearance content, new enemy variants, and upgraded Scra Attacks tied to the newly introduced Danger Species foes, offering stronger incentives to revisit battles.
Two new weapons, multiple sync strike options, and several functionality improvements expand combat depth and quality of life across the game. The update also introduces a broad list of bug fixes, addressing ability behavior, co-op issues, and performance inconsistencies.

New Challenges and Rewards
- Added multiple Battle Challenges and Hyrule Challenges as post-clearance content.
- Introduced new Danger Species enemies, including Danger Species Bokoblin and Sludge Like.
- Upgraded Scra Attacks, such as Boko Consecutive Slashes, based on materials obtained from Danger Species enemies.
New Weapons
- Added the Great Sword of Light, a claymore empowered by Rauru.
- Added the Royal Guards’ Spear used by the Hyrule Kings’ elite.
- Both weapons can be equipped by the Mysterious Golem and tribe warriors.
- New weapons obtained by clearing the battles added in this update.
New Sync Strikes
- Added a dedicated Sync Strike for Zelda and Karamo
- Uses the Power of Time to reverse a boomerang thrown by Karamo
- Timed [X] input increases the strength of the attack

- Executes a powerful spinning attack
- Scatters small enemies and reduces the Weak Point Gauge of stronger foes

Functionality Improvements
Action
- Mysterious Golems special action can now be saved per weapon type.
- Added warning sounds before the end of Limit Break and Infinite Battery skills.

- Characters and weapons can now be selected in the Training Ground.
- Added recovery amount previews for Special Portable Meals and Spare Batteries.
Deployment Preparation Screen
- Added direct jump to the Tsubuyaki Challenge from the Allies screen using the [Y] button.
Hyrule Map
- Added tutorial list display.
- Added visual area division on the ground.
- Added preview of recoverable areas when hovering over a Liberation Battle.
Hyrule Challenges
- Clearable items now displayed in yellow.
- Adjusted the display of challenge completion status.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed Golem Launch not receiving certain effects and enhancements.
- Fixed Tsubuyaki Challenge requiring Zonai Gear kills not counting strong attacks and aerial combat.
- Fixed Secret Skill involving auto guard and elemental states not triggering correctly with Digdoggama attacks.
- Fixed enhanced status sometimes being removed after using Switch Character in the pause menu.
- Fixed BGM sometimes stopping after using Retry under specific conditions.
- Fixed progression block during local co op play in Osuwake Communication.
- Fixed attacks not registering on certain enemies after communication disconnection in local co op.
- Fixed unintended return to the Hyrule Map after using Retry in split-screen 2P play.
- Fixed reversed camera rotation controls during Matsuba Sync Strike in split-screen 2P play.
