Alan Wake 2 Pre-Order Bonus, Release Date & Gameplay Details Unveiled
Details regarding the pre-order bonus, release date, and gameplay featured in Remedy Entertainment’s upcoming Alan Wake 2 have been revealed.
The release date for Alan Wake 2 was announced via its latest trailer at the PlayStation Showcase, and the bonus content players will receive when they pre-order a copy of the game has been revealed via its listing on the Xbox Store.
Alan Wake 2 Pre-order Bonus Content
Those who place their pre-order for a copy of Alan Wake 2 will receive 2 bonus items for use during their playthrough that will give them a head start over other players. Both special items are detailed below.
- Ornate Revolver Skin for Alan
- Survival Resources Pack for Saga
Additionally, it is mentioned that the Survival Resources Pack contains a rocket flare, a first-aid kit, painkillers, and a coffee mug charm. The latter saves Saga from dying from a killing blow. The charm breaks permanently upon use. The Survival Pack items are unlocked during the 2nd mission of the game.

In an FAQ for Alan Wake 2, Remedy Entertainment also revealed that the game will only get a digital-only release. The developer cited multiple reasons for this decision. For one, a large number of players have shifted to digital only. Sony sells a PlayStation 5 without a disc drive and Microsoft’s Xbox Series S is a digital-only console. As a result, the studio stated that it is not uncommon to release modern games as digital-only. Secondly, not releasing a disc helps keep the price of the game at $59.99 / €59.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and $49.99 / €49.99 on PC.
The studio also revealed that Alan wake 2 will receive post-launch support, with both free content as well as two paid expansions. The expansions are called Night Springs and the Lake House, but the developer didn’t share any further details regarding them.
