Alan Wake 2 Update 1.2.2 Brings The Lake House Expansion and Implements Bug Fixes

Alan Wake 2 “Anniversary” update 1.2.2 introduces major enhancements across all platforms, along with the release of The Lake House expansion for Deluxe Edition owners. This update adds new gameplay assists, such as options for infinite ammo, infinite batteries, and immortality, giving players greater flexibility in adjusting their playstyle. Furthermore, improved control settings have been implemented, including the ability to swap gamepad sticks and use motion sensor controls on compatible devices, providing a more customizable experience. Deluxe Edition owners also gain access to the Classic Alan Wake Outfit. Additional improvements include refining the usability of the Flashlight Boost and simplifying the process of unlocking Words of Power. Several quality-of-life updates have also been made, streamlining interactions with resources.

In addition to gameplay enhancements, the update addresses various technical issues. Fixes include resolving a bug where shooting while recharging batteries triggered melee attacks, and correcting instances where players were improperly pushed towards enemies. Other fixes address achievements, lighting problems, and adjustments to the internal render resolution on the Xbox Series S. PS5 and PC users will also notice more refined haptics.

Improvements:

  • Flashlight Boost usability fine-tuned; shooting while boosting should now feel smoother.
  • Easier unlocking of Words of Power by widening the flashlight’s angle of interaction.
  • Resource containers are now easier to interact with (no more awkward camera movements).
  • [PS5] Added support for PlayStation 5 Pro.
  • [PS5][PC] Added optional support for Motion Sensor (Gyro) controls when using a DualSense Controller.
  • [PS5][PC] Additional refined haptics; haptics now trigger during throwable and healing item use.
  • [Xbox Series S] Increased internal render resolution from 1280 x 720 to 1505 x 847.

Fixes:

  • Fixed issue where shooting while recharging batteries would trigger a melee attack.
  • Fixed issue where the player would be pushed towards enemies instead of away when hit while using the flashlight.
  • Fixed issue where Case Board clues would not always trigger voiceover lines.
  • Fixed issue where certain areas became too dark when the flashlight was automatically unequipped.
  • [Night Springs] Fixed Achievement/Trophy for completing episodes, which sometimes did not trigger.
  • Various other fixes and improvements.
