Details regarding Disney’s 20th Century Games and Cold Iron Studio’s unannounced third-person shooter, Aliens Fireteam Elite 2, have allegedly been leaked ahead of an official reveal.
Reddit user firemonkey11 has shared screenshots from a presentation regarding Project Macondo, a new chapter in the Aliens: Fireteam Elite third-person co-op shooter saga that is said to improve upon the mechanics, atmosphere, and excitement of the original.
According to the details mentioned in the pitch, players will fight through an epic new story campaign in Aliens Fireteam Elite 2 with a squad of two Al companions or actual players. They will be able to play as a member of “Dagger Company.” a battalion of spec-op Xenomorph hunters, each with unique abilities and weapons. Additionally, it is mentioned that players will engage in a diverse array of gameplay scenarios, including NPC interactions, alternate paths, navigational challenges, and clue finding. Enemy intelligence and behaviors are also said to have been evolved over the original game. The game will also feature an Annihilation Mode, which will offer a new spin on Horde Mode, with a variety of objectives and encounters for players to take on.
Furthermore, it is stated that, unlike the original, Aliens Fireteam Elite 2 will feature fixed preset character archetypes and non-customizable characters. Each of the five playable Dagger members will have a unique “signature weapon” and an exclusive set of abilities. These characters will also be able to equip a “basic weapon” that rounds out their arsenal.
The unannounced game will not support native in-game voice or text chat. Players will be able to communicate using platform specific chat options. Additionally, no microtransactions, gatcha elements or loot boxes are currently planned. Post-launch content is currently to be determined, though it might include additional Annihilation maps or story mission DLC.
Based on these leaked details, Aliens Fireteam Elite 2 is set for release on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms.
