Apex Legends Update Tones Down Ash’s Dash Speed and Fixes Alter’s Teleport Bug

by Ali Haider

Respawn Entertainment has released a minor yet impactful balance update for Apex Legends, targeting Ash and Alter. The patch addresses Alter’s downed Nexus Teleport issue, ensuring it now functions correctly. In addition, Ash’s dash speed has been reduced by approximately 30 percent to improve balance and align her performance with other Legends.

The development team noted that while Ash has been popular and dominant throughout the year, prior balance tweaks did not fully address her advantage. This latest change specifically slows her dash speed, though factors such as momentum, direction, and whether the ability is used on the ground or in the air remain unchanged.

Full Patch Notes:

  • Alter’s downed Nexus Teleport now works as intended.
  • Reduced Ash’s Dash speed by approximately 30 percent.
    • Influenced by several factors: in-air, on-ground, momentum, and direction (these conditions remain unchanged).

Developer Note:
Ash has been dominant for much of the year, following the addition of her new Dash passive and various improvements to her abilities. The team has been making gradual adjustments to bring her back in line with the rest of the roster. Previous attempts to balance her by modifying other abilities or cooldowns were not sufficient, leading to this direct adjustment to her dash speed.
