Arc Raiders Surpasses 400,000 Concurrent Players on Steam, Sets New Milestone for Extraction Shooters

Embark Studios’ Arc Raiders continues its remarkable ascent in the extraction shooter genre, surpassing 400,000 concurrent players on Steam less than two weeks after its release. According to tracking data shared on SteamDB, the game achieved the milestone just ten days post-launch, marking yet another record-breaking performance for the studio’s debut title. The achievement reinforces Arc Raiders’ position as one of 2025’s most successful multiplayer releases, maintaining an unusually high level of engagement well beyond its launch window.

Initially released on October 30, 2025, Arc Raiders defied expectations with a strong debut, peaking at 250,000 concurrent players within its first 24 hours despite its midweek release. That momentum carried into the following weekend, when the game reached a new high of 354,000 active users on November 2. Now, the player count has climbed even further, setting a fresh record and continuing to outperform several competing titles within the same genre. Across early November, Arc Raiders has consistently maintained a daily active player base exceeding 300,000 users on Steam alone, a rare feat for a newly launched multiplayer title.

The success is particularly noteworthy given Arc Raiders’ development journey. Originally announced as a free-to-play cooperative shooter, the game underwent a major design shift before release, transitioning into a paid, multiplayer extraction-based experience. This change appears to have paid off, with its compelling mix of PvPvE (Player-versus-Player-versus-Environment) gameplay and immersive sci-fi atmosphere resonating strongly with players.

In Arc Raiders, players take on the role of scavengers known as “Raiders,” emerging from underground safe zones to explore Topside—a desolate planet overrun by hostile autonomous machines known as ARC. The game’s structure revolves around high-risk expeditions where teams must collect valuable resources while surviving both environmental threats and rival players, before safely extracting their loot. The tension between risk and reward has proven central to its appeal, blending tactical combat and strategic planning in a way that encourages repeat play.

Available on PC (via Steam and Windows Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, Arc Raiders also supports cross-platform multiplayer, which has likely contributed to its sustained momentum across different ecosystems.
