Assassin’s Creed Mirage to Receive Free DLC with New Story Chapter and Missions

by Ali Haider

Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will receive a new wave of free DLC later this year, offering players an additional story chapter and fresh missions set in 9th century AlUla. The expansion will also bring a set of gameplay improvements to both the base game and the new location. The update was teased through the official Assassin’s Creed account, which described the content as a surprise gift for the community.

Released in October 2023, Assassin’s Creed Mirage was designed as a return to the series’ stealth-oriented roots, following Basim Ibn Ishaq’s journey in Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age. The game was initially planned as an expansion to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla before being reworked into a standalone title. Developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux, it placed emphasis on classic elements such as parkour, assassinations, and a tighter, more focused map compared to recent entries in the franchise.

While the announcement did not share specific details about the size or scope of the upcoming chapter, the decision to release it for free suggests Ubisoft’s continued commitment to supporting the game’s player base. Fans can expect more information in the months ahead as the publisher prepares to outline how AlUla will expand Basim’s story.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Windows PC, and most recently iOS devices. Its successor, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, launched in 2025 and shifted the series back toward role-playing mechanics, but Mirage remains a distinct entry aimed at long-time fans of the original formula.
