Ubisoft has announced Valley of Memory, a new story expansion for Assassin’s Creed Mirage launching on November 18, 2025. The update, which coincides with the game’s second anniversary, will be available free of charge to all existing owners of the title.
According to Ubisoft, Valley of Memory offers up to six hours of additional story content set before the finale of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. The expansion follows Basim as he travels to the ancient region of AlUla after receiving word that his long-lost father may still be alive. Upon his arrival, Basim discovers that AlUla faces growing threats from a group of robbers, while his father’s whereabouts remain uncertain.
The new content introduces an entirely new map based in 9th-century AlUla, featuring locations such as the old town, the Musa Ibn Musayr fortress, the Valley of the Stones, and the necropolis of Hegra. Players will encounter fresh main quests, assassination targets, side contracts, and optional activities throughout the desert landscape. Ubisoft also confirmed that Valley of Memory will feature a new twist on the series’ signature black box missions, though further details were not disclosed.
Beyond the expansion’s narrative additions, Ubisoft is implementing a series of gameplay improvements that extend across both Valley of Memory and the base game’s Baghdad setting. These updates include replayable missions and contracts, allowing players to revisit completed objectives with new challenges such as stealth restrictions or time limits. Successfully completing these challenges will grant exclusive in-game rewards.
Parkour mechanics are also being refined with new options for manual jumps and enhanced control schemes designed to make rooftop navigation smoother. Basim’s movement has been expanded to include customizable side and back ejects, allowing for more flexible free-running sequences.
Additional updates include the introduction of two new difficulty levels and expanded skill and tool customization options. A new skill called Engineer 2 will enable Basim to equip all level 1 tool modifications, while level 3 upgrades have been added to every tool type.
Ubisoft stated that these features aim to enhance player freedom and replayability as part of its ongoing post-launch support for Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Full details regarding the technical and balance adjustments are expected to be outlined in the upcoming patch notes.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage, originally released in October 2023, served as a return to the franchise’s stealth-oriented roots, focusing on the character Basim Ibn Ishaq in 9th-century Baghdad. Valley of Memory marks the game’s largest post-launch update to date, signaling continued developer support two years after its debut.
