Assassin’s Creed Shadows Title Update 1.0.5 Brings Dead by Daylight Crossover, Parkour Improvements, and Photo Mode Overhaul

by Ali Haider

Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will receive its Title Update 1.0.5 on May 27. This substantial update delivers a blend of new content, special collaborations, parkour enhancements, and a host of bug fixes across all platforms. The update size varies by platform, with the PlayStation 5 patch at approximately 3.31 GB and the Xbox Series X|S patch reaching 19 GB.

Among the key additions is the debut of the pre-order bonus quest Thrown to the Dogs, available to all players after completing the main story mission From Spark to Flame. Players can locate the quest at Tennoji Temple near Osaka and unlock Tsuki-maru, a loyal dog companion, as a reward. Additionally, a crossover event with Dead by Daylight introduces a new supernatural quest accessible after unlocking Yasuke, complete with themed gear, a unique trinket, and the memorable mount Maurice. The update also introduces Balatro-themed items that deliver new affliction mechanics, adding strategic depth to combat.

Parkour sees one of its most notable overhauls in this update. Players will notice the introduction of a vertical jump for grabbing ledges, awnings, or overhangs without needing a wall run. Sprint toggles have also been revised to stay locked during directional inputs in parkour sequences, while side and back ejects have improved for better traversal flow. The update significantly expands Photo Mode, offering users new time-of-day controls, pose options, background music, and additional customization tools.
