An offscreen video of what appears to be the first teaser trailer for Avengers Doomsday has reportedly leaked online. The footage, which is circulating unofficially, has raised questions about its authenticity, particularly given ongoing concerns around AI generated content. Despite the uncertainty, the video is being widely discussed, with claims that it offers an early look at Marvel’s plans for the upcoming Avengers film.
According to known leaker Daniel Richtman, also known as Daniel RPK, the first teaser is expected to center on Steve Rogers. Richtman stated that Marvel intends to establish Rogers as the lead character in Avengers Doomsday. He said, “Ok, so since Marvel is revealing it themselves, I can also tell you that the first teaser is Steve Rogers–focused and his return is confirmed. The reason is to establish him as the lead character in Avengers Doomsday.” The teaser reportedly ends with a title card stating that Steve Rogers will return in Avengers Doomsday.
Richtman also shared personal reservations about this creative direction. “And I want to be clear, I’m not trying to be negative here. I’ve heard good things about the movie. It’s just that, PERSONALLY, I’m not a fan of this decision. Bringing Steve back? Fine. Making him the FOCUS (alongside RDJ’s Doom)? That’s kind of… ugh,” he said. In a follow-up post, Richtman added, “It’s like, been there done that. MULTIPLE TIMES. Time to give someone else the spotlight. Plus we haven’t seen these characters since 2019. They had no role in this saga. So to bring them back as the leads in this one feels unearned. Again, in my opinion.”
Early leak claims also suggest Marvel plans to release four different teaser trailers, each highlighting a different character. The reported rollout would begin with Steve Rogers in the first week, followed by Thor in week two, Doctor Doom in week three, and a full teaser trailer in week four. The inclusion of Doom aligns with Robert Downey Jr., who is playing the character in the film.
