Metal Head Games has released Update V2.0.0.28 for Back to the Dawn, bringing exciting news alongside gameplay improvements. The studio confirmed that the prison escape RPG will be coming to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation consoles in 2026, alongside an official Korean localization. Until then, a community-created Korean translation is already available in-game, ensuring more players can experience the story of Boulderton in their native language.
This update also introduces several quality-of-life changes, including the ability to skip mini-games after repeated failures and major optimizations for New Game+. Players can now bypass tutorials, skip previously completed challenges, and enjoy smoother progression across multiple runs. In addition, the patch brings bug fixes, expanded quest branches, balance tweaks, and new guidance prompts to further refine the gameplay experience.

Set in a kungfupunk world of anthropomorphic animals, players choose between Thomas, a journalist framed for a crime he did not commit, or Bob, an undercover agent. Both protagonists must survive the dangers of Boulderton Prison, unravel a vast conspiracy, and find a way to escape before time runs out.
Back to the Dawn was released on July 17, 2025, for Windows PC and on July 18, 2025, for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. It also launched day one on Xbox Game Pass.
