Baldur’s Gate 3 Update 1.05 Patch Notes and Download Size Revealed

Larian Studios has released update 1.05 for Baldur’s Gate 3, which is a massive patch. It has a huge set of changes mentioned in the patch notes.

Baldur’s Gate 3’s Patch 5 is a significant update that enhances the game with numerous features and improvements. The patch introduces new epilogues, providing a more satisfying closure with allies post-victory. Players can now enjoy two new play modes: Honour Mode and Custom Mode, expanding the gameplay experience. The update has brought substantial performance enhancements, especially noticeable in Act III, and added dynamic resolution for PS5 users. A notable quality-of-life improvement is the improved inventory access, allowing players to manage the inventories of companions not currently in their active party. Additionally, the game is now available in Korean, broadening its accessibility.

Other notable highlights include various gameplay and character interaction improvements. Shadowheart will always possess the artefact during the tutorial if she’s a follower, and a transformation into half-illithid now visually affects the character’s eyes. The update has adjusted hotkeys for Basic Action variations and fixed bugs related to party members’ armor sets and companions’ reactivity. The physics of characters and walls have been improved to prevent NPCs from shooting through ceilings, and the loading screen art now unlocks progressively. The patch also addresses various bugs and adds audio and cinematic enhancements to specific scenes, such as Astarion’s endgame romance scene and the intimate scene in Sharess’ Caress.

BG3 Update 1.05 Download Size

According to Larian Studios, the download size of this patch is approximately 30 GB and you will need at least 130 GB of space to install this update. It is better to just have a fresh install since this patch appears to make a lot of improvements to the game including for performance.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is out now for PS5 and PC. It will be released later this year for the Xbox Series S|X.
