Battlefield 2042 Beta PS5 vs. Xbox Series X Comparison: Which Platform Is Ideal?

by Salal Awan

EA Dice has finally brought the Battlefield 2042 Beta test for PS5 and Xbox Series. Which platform among the two is the ideal one to experience the game?

It turns out, both of them have been reasonably optimized to offer the best experience possible, so it doesn’t matter which one you will pick, at the end of the day, you will still have a lot of fun.

The game runs at dynamic 4K resolution on the PS5 and Xbox Series X. The PS5 manages to retain a higher average resolution than the Xbox Series X but this can lead to slight fluctuation in the frame rate compared to its competitor.

The texture quality and other features are practically identical for both versions of the game, so you will be hard-pressed to notice a difference. It just comes down to the choice of controller and eco-system to play Battlefield 2042. Xbox Series X doesn’t offer a leap in visuals or performance for the World’s Most Powerful console. The PS5 can hold up well against Microsoft’s new console.

If you have the lesser version of Xbox Series X, i.e Series S, you do need to compromise on some features e.g lower quality textures, draw distance, and so on. The resolution also takes a hit from dynamic 4K to dynamic 1440p. Yet, you can still enjoy the game running at 60 FPS so there’s that.
