Battlefield 2042 Update 1.070 Introduces War Machine Event and New Content

Battlefield 2042 Update 1.070 introduces the War Machine event, new game modes, the AN-94 Assault Rifle, and major gameplay fixes. Read the full patch notes here.

Electronic Arts and DICE have rolled out Update 1.070 for Battlefield 2042, bringing a host of new content, including the War Machine time-limited event, a new Vault weapon, and various gameplay improvements. This latest update introduces new game modes, additional unlockables through an event pass, and significant weapon and vehicle adjustments.

War Machine Event: New Limited-Time Modes

The War Machine event kicks off on March 18, featuring multiple PvE and PvP experiences that evolve over time.

  • Rush Override (March 18) – A four-player PvE Rush mode where squads battle against AI-controlled machines on maps such as:

    • Redacted
    • Arica Harbor
    • Exposure
    • Noshahr Canals
  • Domination Mode (March 18) – A smaller, infantry-focused version of Conquest, arriving for the first time in Battlefield 2042 across:

    • Arica Harbor
    • Noshahr Canals
    • Stadium
    • Battle of the Bulge
    • Breakaway
  • King of the Hill (April 1) – A new mode arriving later in the event. More details will be revealed in a future update.

Event Pass and Store Bundles

Players can progress through an event pass with eight unique specialist skins, Battlefield Coins (BFCs), and legendary items. The Accelerated Event Pass option provides:

  • 30 unlockable tiers
  • 15 Tier Skips
  • Legendary CENTRAL Unit India outfit for Angel

Additionally, new store bundles include:

  • War.exe – 1,750 BFC
  • Flesh vs. Steel – 1,750 BFC
  • War Machines Bundle (includes both previous bundles) – 3,000 BFC

New Vault Weapon: AN-94

The AN-94 Assault Rifle returns from Battlefield Bad Company, Battlefield 3, and Battlefield 4, now available in All-Out Warfare with updated handling and mechanics.

  • Designed for precision with its unique hyperburst mode
  • 8 muzzle attachments for customization
  • 9 scope attachments to suit different combat situations
  • 8 underbarrel attachments, including GP-30 grenade launcher and bipod functionality

Battlefield 2042 Update 1.070 Changelog: Bug Fixes and Improvements

Maps

  • Fixed an issue where players could access unintended areas using a spawn beacon near the C Flag on Redacted.

Vehicles

  • Added full auto throttle option for airplanes (toggle on/off).
  • Fixed inconsistent camera behavior on Portal’s HMMWV.
  • Corrected a bug where the low-health vignette did not appear in vehicle open seats.

Weapons

  • Fixed an issue where AK5C handling modifiers were doubled when using suppressors in certain scenarios.
  • GP-30 HE grenades now deal consistent damage on direct impact.
  • BSV-M Close Combat magazine now correctly displays bullet type icon.

Gameplay and UI Enhancements

  • Fixed a bug where the remaining player count was visible in the Hazard Zone social menu.
  • Reintroduced gameplay tips and warcraft information on the loading screen, with the ability to toggle between categories.
  • Improved main menu UI to highlight weekly missions when an event is not active.
  • Ribbon notifications are now hidden when the HUD is disabled.

Developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts, Battlefield 2042 is a multiplayer-focused first-person shooter that launched on November 19, 2021. The game is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, featuring large-scale battles, cross-platform support, and an evolving seasonal content structure.
