EA and Battlefield Studios’ first-person shooter, Battlefield 6, will become the best-selling entry in the series before the end of 2025, according to Circana analyst Mat Piscatella.
During a recent interview with Kyle Bosman on YouTube, Circana Senior Director and industry analyst Mat Piscatella mentioned that Battlefield 6 is on track to become the best-selling game in the franchise’s history, and that it will achieve this milestone very soon. While discussing breakout hits and unpredictable market trends, he stated that Battlefield 6 “will be at some point this year the bestselling Battlefield game of all time … in a couple weeks,” highlighting the game’s strong launch sales performance.
Piscatella shared his insight on Battlefield 6’s expected sales milestone as part of a larger conversation about the volatility and excitement of today’s games market. Using examples ranging from Helldivers 2 to Arc Raiders, he noted that surprise hits and shifting player expectations continue to shape the industry. “That’s kind of the magic of gaming,” he remarked. “It’s not predictable and it’s what keeps me engaged and excited about what I do.”
When Bosman later asked about year-end sales rankings in the US market, Piscatella reaffirmed his confidence in Battlefield 6’s momentum. While he still expects Call of Duty to retain its position as the country’s best-selling annual release, he noted that EA’s first-person shooter has had a “really great launch” with a “very strong hold on players.” He added that EA and Battlefield Studios have been “doing a great job managing that game so far.”
Despite this surge, Piscatella cautioned that Battlefield overtaking Call of Duty in the US. remains “exceptionally difficult,” largely due to the latter’s dominance among mass-market console audiences. Still, the fact that Battlefield 6 is even in the conversation indicates a major shift for the franchise, which has struggled with problematic launches in recent years.
