The development team behind Battlefield 6 has confirmed the presence of a widespread infinite loading screen bug affecting the game’s open beta. In a statement posted to the official Battlefield Comms account, the studio assured players that the issue has been identified and work is already underway to resolve it.
“Our team has been investigating reports of an infinite loading screen sometimes occurring when matchmaking into Siege of Cairo while playing Conquest,” the post read. “We’ve identified the cause and are performing server restarts to resolve this. These restarts will not affect players currently in-match. Thank you for your patience.”
Reports from early access players indicate that the bug manifests when attempting to join matches, particularly in Conquest mode on the Siege of Cairo map. The glitch leaves players stuck on a loading screen with only the game’s music playing in the background. While other modes such as Breakthrough and Domination appear to be less affected, some players have been unable to access Conquest at all.
The problem has been observed on multiple platforms, including PC via Steam and EA App, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. The community consensus points toward a server-side issue, given the cross-platform impact and the limited effectiveness of client-side workarounds. Temporary fixes such as restarting the game, verifying files, or disabling crossplay have only offered occasional relief.
This is not the first technical hiccup highlighted during the beta. EA and Battlefield Studios had previously shared a list of known issues ahead of the game’s October 10 launch, noting that the beta build predates recent balancing and stability updates. While the open beta serves as both a showcase and a testing ground, players remain watchful of stability improvements given the proximity to release.
With the developers confirming that a fix is in progress, fans will be looking for rapid updates to ensure that Battlefield 6’s flagship multiplayer experience launches on solid footing.
