The developers of Battlefield 6 have implemented a series of balance changes during the second weekend of the game’s Open Beta, addressing both gameplay and technical concerns raised by players. One of the most significant adjustments affects the Rush mode, where the M-COM timer has been reduced from 45 to 30 seconds. According to the Battlefield Comms team, the change is intended to improve the balance between attacking and defending sides. The studio has stated it will continue monitoring the mode’s performance and make further changes if needed.
Additional balance updates have been rolled out to Breakthrough and Rush. In Breakthrough, fewer players are now required to accelerate objective capture speeds. For both modes, defender respawn timers have been standardized at 12 seconds, replacing the previous range of 6 to 12 seconds. The development team has encouraged players to try the changes and provide feedback during the ongoing test period.
The beta’s second weekend, which began on August 14, has also been marked by technical challenges. Some players have reported issues with matchmaking as well as the absence of DLSS and DLAA options. The developers have identified the root cause of the graphics settings problem and are working to restore the features during the beta. They have also advised players encountering matchmaking problems to update their game client and, for EA App users, run the repair function from the application’s menu.
Despite these setbacks, the Open Beta remains fully accessible without an access code and runs until August 18 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the EA App. This testing phase introduces new content, including Empire State, an infantry-focused map set in Brooklyn, New York, alongside returning maps and modes from the first beta weekend. Rush and Squad Death Match are among the highlighted additions, the latter pitting four squads against each other in a race to reach the kill target.
Players participating in the beta can unlock exclusive rewards for the full release by completing in-game challenges. These include the Bat Company Dog Tag, the War Machine Vehicle Skin, and the Striking Distance Weapon Package. With Battlefield 6 scheduled for release on October 10, 2025, the current beta provides both a preview of the upcoming content and an opportunity for the developers to fine-tune gameplay based on community input.
