Battlefield 6 has received its latest update, version 1.1.1.0, introducing a series of minor balance changes to weapon recoil and dispersion (bloom). However, despite some expectations, the patch does not include bug fixes, which the developers at Battlefield Studios (EA DICE) have confirmed will arrive in a subsequent update later in the season.
The update, released on October 28, 2025, was positioned as a follow-up to earlier pre-season gameplay improvements, with a focus on refining core mechanics such as character movement, animation fluidity, weapon feel, and environmental clarity. While the patch does tweak certain weapon parameters, the development team has clarified that the more extensive dispersion-related bug fixes were not included in this release due to the update already being finalized when the issues were identified.
Florian “DRUNKKZ3”, Principal Game Designer at DICE, elaborated on the situation in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), explaining:
“There has been relatively minor changes to weapons recoil and dispersion in this week’s update but they’re not the changes that fix bugs related to dispersion as those were discovered after this week’s patch was locked down and ready to release.”
He further reassured players that more substantial updates are already in development, adding:
“The bug fixes are not in this update, might not have been clear from some of the previous comms but they are coming into a later update during Season 1.”
Florian also clarified that the current adjustments represent a balance pass rather than a uniform reduction in weapon bloom, noting that some weapons may feel more accurate while others might display increased spread depending on their intended roles. “Some have less than before, some have more than before,” he explained. “It’s a balance pass more than a general scale change when it comes to bloom.”
Community feedback to the patch has been mixed. Some players report perceivable improvements in weapon handling and aiming stability, while others argue that key issues—such as excessive ADS (Aim Down Sights) sway and the persistent “spread bug after sprinting”—remain unresolved. Streamer EndersFPS, reacting to the update, commented that the “game is the exact same tbh,” pointing to the lack of noticeable improvement in weapon consistency.
Despite these lingering issues, the update’s broader goals remain aligned with DICE’s ongoing commitment to refining Battlefield 6’s core gunplay experience. A full “general pass to dispersion (bloom)” is in the works, according to the developers, who plan to continue monitoring player feedback throughout the season to guide future balancing efforts.
Released on October 10, 2025, Battlefield 6 represents the eighteenth mainline entry in the long-running first-person shooter series. The game marks a return to a traditional class-based system, set in a near-future conflict against the private military company Pax Armata. Alongside the new balancing update, DICE has already delivered notable technical and visual improvements, including enhanced lighting, visibility upgrades, and smoother movement animations, all designed to polish the experience leading into the game’s live-service roadmap.
