The developers behind Battlefield 6 have addressed two major concerns raised by players during the ongoing Open Beta: unusually long matchmaking times in Custom Search and missing DLSS/DLAA options. Both issues are currently being worked on, with improvements expected before the game’s official launch in October.
In a post on the official Battlefield Comms X account, the team explained that some players using Custom Search are experiencing wait times of up to four to five minutes, depending on map and mode selections. According to the developers, this system prioritizes filling matches to near capacity, which can extend the process when suitable slots are unavailable. If a match cannot be found quickly, the system attempts to create a new one, further contributing to delays. The developers acknowledged that players in groups may encounter longer waits as the matchmaking process must accommodate larger parties.
“Open Beta, and Battlefield Labs allows us to validate and improve the backend processes that take place around our features and this amount of players has helped us with this for Custom Search,” the Battlefield Comms team stated. They added that efforts are ongoing to reduce wait times during the beta and fully resolve the issue before launch.
Separately, the developers also addressed problems surrounding DLSS and DLAA, two advanced upscaling and anti-aliasing technologies from NVIDIA. A fix was rolled out in collaboration with NVIDIA after many players reported that the features were missing entirely from the Beta. Those who continue to experience issues are advised to restart their computer, reinstall the NVIDIA app, and relaunch the game.
Battlefield Comms confirmed earlier that they were actively working on this issue with NVIDIA, and the recent fix should restore functionality. “We have worked together with NVIDIA to fix the underlying issue that caused players to not see DLSS/DLAA in the Battlefield Open Beta,” the update explained.
Battlefield 6, developed by Battlefield Studios and published by Electronic Arts, is set to release on October 10, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. As the eighteenth entry in the long-running franchise, the title is aiming to refine both technical performance and gameplay experience, with lessons from the Open Beta helping shape the final product.
