EA and Battlefield Studios’ upcoming first-person shooter, Battlefield 6, will feature more than 40 weapons and 8 multiplayer modes at launch.
Alexia Christofi, Producer on Battlefield 6 at EA, took to Twitter/X to get feedback from fans on the game’s recent reveal and its showcased features. One individual asked her whether the amount of weapons seen in the pre-alpha and during the reveal event will be comparable to those that will be available at launch. In response, she clarified that the Battlefield 6 reveal event and open beta have a reduced set of weapons. According to her, the game will feature more than 40 weapons at launch.

Christofi also mentioned that weapons in Battlefield 6 will come with some base attachments, but players will be able to unlock more as they progress with each weapon.
As for the number of multiplayer modes featured in Battlefield 6, Christofi said that there will be a total of 8 multiplayer modes available at launch, including the all-out warfare suite of Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, and a new mode called Escalation. The other 4 are classic multiplayer modes, namely Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Domination and King of the Hill. Furthermore, she mentioned that the development team at Battlefield Studios will add more modes and maps over time after launch.
Regarding the new multiplayer mode, Escalation, Christofi compared it Conquest, but termed it as more intense. She mentioned that players start with a much higher number of capture points, which reduces over time. However, vehicle counts increase as the points decrease, so things tend to get more chaotic.
The recently revealed Battlefield 6 trailer and gameplay footage offered a first look at how the multiplayer matches in the game will play out. Fighter jets, tanks, skydiving RPGS, heavy artillery, and high-intensity infantry combat will come together to deliver an all-out war . Players will be able to demolish their surroundings for a strategic advantage against their enemy by turning their vehicle into a wrecking ball, burying a squad under a ceiling, or creating new paths in order to gain the upper hand. The game features an overhauled combat system, with improved gunplay and tactical movement, making every action feel instinctual and precise.
