Battlefield 6 Known Issues at Launch: Full List of Bugs and Fixes in Update 1.0.1.0

by Greg Martin

Battlefield 6 has officially launched worldwide on October 10, 2025, marking the beginning of a new chapter for DICE’s long-running shooter franchise. However, as with most major live-service releases, the launch build comes with a few technical hiccups. Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios have released a comprehensive list of currently known issues under version 1.0.1.0, along with temporary workarounds and notes on upcoming fixes.

This list is not exhaustive, as the development team plans to address additional problems through future patches. Players are encouraged to continue submitting reports via official support channels to help improve the experience across all platforms.

Player and Gameplay Issues

  • Party System: Accepting multiplayer invites while in the Campaign does not transfer the player to a lobby or server.
  • Vaulting and Movement: Characters may bounce off vault-height objects or certain surfaces.
  • Profile Display: Weapon Mastery Badges currently appear greyed out, but progress toward them still counts normally.

Gadgets

  • EOD Bot: Can become stuck if deployed on a Supply Crate.
  • Defibrillators: Inconsistent hit registration after range adjustments.

Weapons

  • Missing camera shake when aiming down sights for certain weapons.
  • Crosshair does not properly scale in 4K resolution.
  • Weapon sway may disconnect after exiting a vehicle.
  • Reloading fails if the reload button is pressed too soon after firing.
  • Some weapon charms lack visible attachment loops.
  • Certain scope lenses visually detach during reload animations.

Vehicles

  • R-84V2 and AIM-84 Missiles: Temporarily disabled due to issues with jet-based air-to-air targeting. A fix will be deployed in an upcoming update.

Maps and Modes

  • Combat area may fail to render on the minimap or deploy screen in Escalation.
  • Strikepoint: Halftime screen sometimes shows no data.
  • Empire State (Rush): All sectors may appear active at match start.

UI and HUD

  • HUD may not appear in 16:10 aspect ratios at certain resolutions.
  • Game mode UI may not update correctly when joining mid-round; rejoining fixes the issue.
  • Command Console is currently inaccessible.
  • “Purchase Failed” errors may occur in Inbox or Bulletin menus.
  • “Highly Trained” Dog Tag mislabeled as AI Dog Tag; name to be corrected in future.

Character Customization

  • Missing faction and class patches on some skins.
  • Sunstroke and Bramble skins have incorrect patterns or textures.
  • Copperpulse and Evergreen skins share identical appearances.
  • System Override cosmetic too saturated; will be adjusted in later patch.
  • Certain class patches override player-selected designs.

Single Player Mode

  • Some challenges may not unlock if failed previously during the same session; restart mission to fix.
  • Low graphical settings can cause visual artifacts; raising settings may resolve.
  • Screen tearing may occur; enable V-Sync to prevent it.
  • Teammates or characters may become stuck; restart checkpoints or missions.
  • AI and objectives may stop functioning if playing outside intended areas.
  • Game can become unresponsive after being idle; restarting restores functionality.
  • On PC, switching to Fullscreen prevents unintentional app interactions.
  • Challenge Mode UI may bug after pausing; restart mission to fix.
  • Temporary shader stutter may occur on PC during the Prologue.
  • On Xbox and PS5, campaign may crash when pressing “Continue” if no add-ons are installed.

Settings

  • Auto Performance mode may incorrectly set graphics to Low on RTX 5080 GPUs.
  • Aspect ratio changes may cause visual artifacts or see-through borders.
  • PC users should reduce deadzone values from 22% to 8% for smoother aiming.
  • On consoles, Dynamic Resolution Scaling (DRS) in Performance Mode must be toggled off and back on after each session for full benefit.

Portal Mode

  • Hosting fails if the server description contains special characters.
  • On PS5, crashes may occur when the party leader starts a server with certain content packs disabled.
  • “My Experiences” tab cannot scroll to the bottom row.

Progression and Challenges

  • Player stats may incorrectly include data from custom Portal matches.
  • Several challenges are not tracking correctly:
    • “Resupply teammates with the Supply Pouch”
    • “Repair Vehicles” progress bar not updating
    • “Use Vehicle Supply Crate” not registering
    • “Weapon Expert Unit Challenge” incorrectly described; actual requirement is 15 longshot kills in one match.
  • Land Vehicle Expert assignment counts helicopters as ground vehicles.
  • Vehicle Challenge 1 does not properly track helicopter progress.

Visual Effects and Video

  • Shader stutter may occur on PC splash screen.
  • Rapidly switching between first- and third-person views in vehicles can trigger photosensitivity issues.

EA’s Acknowledgment and Next Steps

Electronic Arts has reiterated that Battlefield 6 is a live service title, meaning updates and hotfixes will continue to refine performance and stability post-launch. The development team is already working on subsequent patches aimed at addressing the more disruptive issues, including crashes, shader stutters, and progression tracking bugs.

Players encountering new problems are encouraged to report them through the official Battlefield forums or EA Help portal. While the 1.0.1.0 launch build has its fair share of rough edges, the developers have committed to stabilizing the experience in the coming weeks as the game’s first major post-launch update rolls out.

Battlefield 6 debuted on October 10, 2025, across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Although its launch build introduces a few notable issues, most problems are already under investigation.
