Battlefield 6 Open Beta Highlights Known Issues Ahead of October Launch

by Ali Haider

Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios have outlined the current set of known issues affecting the Battlefield 6 Open Beta, offering players a central reference point for reported bugs. With the game still in active development ahead of its October 10 release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, the development team is using this early access phase to gather feedback and identify problems for future patches.

The studio notes that the Open Beta build is the same as that used during the Multiplayer Reveal Event, meaning some recent weapon balancing adjustments are not yet included. As such, certain gameplay and performance quirks are to be expected, from animation inconsistencies to UI bugs and stability concerns. Developers plan to update the list regularly as the beta period progresses.

Key Known Issues in the Battlefield 6 Open Beta

Soldier Gameplay

  • Primary weapon deployment is delayed during sprint.
  • Players cannot ping enemies when using stationary weapons.
  • Takedown prompts sometimes fail to execute.
  • Pinging and spotting are unavailable while in vehicles.
  • Redeploying from an open vehicle seat forces a first-person view.
  • Zipline animations are still in development.
  • Spamming the mount weapon function can force players out of prone.
  • Aim assist near smoke is incomplete.
  • Players may sink into the ground after reviving a teammate.

Weapons and Gadgets

  • All barrel slot and machine gun attachment descriptions are placeholders.
  • Certain weapon sights clip through the camera when aiming down sights with specific scopes.
  • Scope names in the loadout menu are incorrect.
  • Weapon recoil adjustments from recent balance passes are not included in the beta build.

UI and UX

  • ‘Close Map’ button is non-functional after opening the map.
  • Soldier supply providers lack animations.
  • Slider-based settings are unfinished.
  • Air vehicle out-of-bounds markers are missing on the Capstone map.
  • Vehicle spot icons are absent.
  • Game Mode Widget objective icons can disappear when another user leaves the server.
  • Some gadget pickup prompts are missing.
  • Changing crouch key binding from C is not functioning correctly.

Maps and Modes

  • Distorted visual effects appear in the Firing Range on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
  • Missing lighting in Capstone causes overly dark areas.
  • Barbed wire in Capstone does not slow or damage players.
  • Zipline ropes lack proper textures.

Settings and Functionality

  • Big Map opacity slider is non-functional.
  • DualSense vibration does not work over Bluetooth.

Client-Specific Issues

  • On PS5, some users encounter an “ID OptionsModify” screen due to incorrect language settings. A workaround involves reinstalling the game after switching the console language to English.

Crash Awareness

  • Some players encounter a “D3D12CreateDevice” error on the splash screen, resolved by repairing the game.
  • Crashes without error messages may require disabling “Force randomization for images (Mandatory ASLR)” in Windows Exploit Protection settings.

While the Open Beta gives players an early hands-on experience with Battlefield 6, it also serves as a testing ground for the development team. Many of the issues reported—like weapon balancing, animation polish, and missing UI elements—are expected to be fixed or improved by launch. With the official release set for October 10, players can expect ongoing updates and improvements as Battlefield Studios works toward delivering a stable and polished experience across all platforms.
