Battlefield 6 Open Beta Server Shutdown Time Announced Ahead of Weekend 2

by Salal Awan

DICE and EA have confirmed that servers for the first weekend of the Battlefield 6 Open Beta will go offline today at 08:00 UTC. Players will still be able to finish any ongoing matches after the shutdown process begins. Once the servers are fully offline, access to gameplay will be restricted, though players can still load into the main menu, adjust their settings, and browse available challenges. The downtime will last until the start of Weekend 2, scheduled for Thursday, August 14, at the same time.

The first weekend of the beta brought in large numbers of players across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, offering a hands-on look at several new maps, modes, and gameplay improvements. Weekend 2 will run from August 14 to August 18 and will use the same build as the first weekend, meaning there will be no new content or major updates between the two phases. However, the feedback gathered so far will help DICE in addressing balance concerns, including the overpowered M87A1 shotgun, which is slated for adjustments in a future patch.

In addition to core modes like Conquest and Breakthrough, the beta features Siege of Cairo, Liberation Peak, and Iberian Offensive as playable maps. Players have also been given early access to a server browser test, allowing them to either join existing matches or create their own. According to Netduma, servers are distributed globally, covering regions in North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, South Africa, Oceania, and Asia, ensuring a broad testing base for matchmaking performance.

While Weekend 2 will keep the same content, the development team has made quick adjustments based on community feedback. Most notably, Breakthrough has been brought back as its own dedicated playlist following player requests. EA has reminded participants that peak play times could lead to temporary queue delays, as matchmaking systems handle player loads.

Battlefield 6 will officially release on October 10, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. You can read more about the comparison between various platforms in our coverage that discusses the technical details.
