The Battlefield 6 Open Beta is already shaping up to be the franchise’s most successful trial yet. Within hours of launch, over 300,000 concurrent players were recorded on Steam alone, marking a major milestone for the series. With many more participating across platforms like the EA App, Epic Games Store, and consoles, the beta’s scale has been described by Electronic Arts as unprecedented.
As excitement builds for the full release in October, EA has introduced platform-specific rewards tied to beta participation. For PlayStation 5 users, one such incentive is an exclusive in-game item titled the Advance Party Soldier Skin. A message to PS5 beta testers confirms this reward:
“Thanks for playing the Open Beta on PlayStation! You’ve earned the ‘Advance Party’ Soldier Skin, available at launch in October.”
This unique skin will be accessible once the full game launches on October 10, 2025. While no confirmation has been provided yet for exclusive items on other platforms such as Xbox or PC, it is speculated that similar rewards may be unveiled in the near future.
In addition to this PlayStation-exclusive item, Twitch drops have also been confirmed, bringing additional cosmetic unlocks for players who engage with Battlefield 6 content on the streaming platform. These include the Imperial Soldier Skin and Landslide Soldier Skin, both of which add further visual flair to the in-game experience.
Despite the positive reception, the beta has not been without its issues. High player volumes led to temporary server instability, prompting EA to issue statements acknowledging the situation and assuring players that backend improvements were being implemented. The publisher reiterated its commitment to refining the overall experience ahead of the game’s full release.
Battlefield 6, developed by Battlefield Studios and published by Electronic Arts, is the eighteenth mainline entry in the long-running first-person shooter series. The game is scheduled to launch globally on October 10, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
