Battlefield 6 and its free-to-play Redsec mode will kick off Season 2 on February 17 at 4:00 am PT 12:00 pm UTC, introducing a multi-phase content rollout centered on the escalating conflict with Pax Armata. The new season shifts the fight to the mountains of Germany, where players will take part in a large-scale assault to reclaim a former NATO airbase.
Season 2 will unfold across three phases titled Extreme Measures, Nightfall, and Hunter Prey. Each phase is set to introduce new maps, gadgets, weapons, vehicles, and limited-time experiences designed to expand the all-out warfare Battlefield is known for.
The first phase, Extreme Measures, launches with the introduction of VL 7 psychoactive smoke, a non-lethal gadget that distorts the battlefield with hallucinogenic effects. The update also brings the new Contaminated map to Battlefield 6, alongside three new weapons, two new gadgets, and the return of the AH-6 Little Bird helicopter in both Battlefield 6 and Redsec. In Redsec, players can expect limited-time modes focused on intense and disorienting combat scenarios intended to push squad coordination to its limits.
The second phase, Nightfall, will introduce darker conditions across both Battlefield 6 and Redsec. This update includes the new Hagental Base map as well as an additional point of interest, further expanding the playable environments during night-based engagements.
The final phase of the season, Hunter Prey, will feature the limited-time Operation Augur event in Battlefield 6. This stage also adds a new vehicle, a melee weapon, and additional content that has yet to be fully detailed.
PlayStation Plus members will receive the Toxic Tide Pack at no additional cost. The bundle includes a Pax Armata Soldier Skin, two Weapon Packages, a Vehicle Skin, and other in-game items aimed at preparing players for the challenges ahead.
With three distinct phases planned and a range of new content across both core multiplayer and Redsec, Season 2 is positioned as a significant expansion for Battlefield 6 when it begins on February 17.
