Battlefield 6 Update Details Nightfall Feedback and Phase 3

DICE has shared a new Battlefield 6 community update, reflecting on player feedback from the recently released Nightfall content while outlining what is coming next with the game’s upcoming Phase 3 update, titled Hunter Prey.

Since Nightfall launched on March 17, the developer notes that players have responded positively to its darker tone and gameplay changes. The Hagental Base map has emerged as a highlight, with players praising its layout and emphasis on close-quarters combat. The introduction of night vision mechanics has also influenced how squads approach engagements, encouraging more deliberate movement and coordination.

Looking ahead, Phase 3 will go live on April 14 and serve as the final stage of Season 2. The update focuses on progression improvements, communication refinements, and adjustments to Battle Royale pacing. Progression systems are being reworked further, with faster experience gains, earlier unlocks, and additional tuning across weapons, vehicles, and career ranks.

Improvements to the ping system are also a key part of the update. DICE aims to address inconsistencies in spotting and communication, particularly in Battle Royale, where issues with item tracking and disappearing markers have been reported. The goal is to make squad coordination more reliable across all modes.

Battle Royale will see several gameplay changes designed to improve pacing and reduce downtime. Adjustments include increased ammunition and armor availability, faster looting interactions, and the introduction of a new Armor Drop Strike Package. The developer is also bringing back the Traverser Mark 2 vehicle in a modified form, removing its weaponry to better fit the mode’s balance.

Elsewhere, Gauntlet mode will receive updates such as the permanent return of the VL 7 Smoke modifier, while Portal is set to expand with a new tool called Portal Gadget. This feature allows creators to trigger custom gameplay logic more directly, offering greater flexibility when designing user-generated experiences.

The update also touches on recent testing for a Battle Royale Solos mode, which has been a frequent request from players. Early feedback indicates strong interest, though DICE is still evaluating balance concerns related to class selection, vehicles, and match pacing before confirming its return.

DICE says it will continue refining systems based on community feedback as Season 2 concludes, with additional updates and features already in development for future releases.
