PC players in EA and Battlefield Studios’ first-person shooter, Battlefield 6, can now disable crossplay with console players. Here’s how.
While console players are usually the only ones who can disable crossplay in competitive first-person shooters, this is no longer the case with the PC version of Battlefield 6. If you play the game on PC and are looking to avoid console players and their generous aim assist, read ahead.
How To Disable Crossplay In Battlefield 6 On PC
In order to disable crossplay in the PC version of Battlefield 6, follow the following simple and easy steps:
- Head into the documents/battlefield 6/settings/steam/PROFSAVE profile
- Add GstGameplay.CrossPlayEnable 0 to the text file
By adding the above line to the POFSAVE profile document, you will now have crossplay disabled in Battlefield 6 on PC. The method is a bit of a hack, and not an option that can be selected from the in-game menu. Until EA officially allows PC players to disable it from within the game, this will have to do.
Recently, EA and Battlefield Studios unveiled a new addition to Battlefield 6 titled Casual Breakthrough, a relaxed, co-op variant of the popular Breakthrough mode. Announced via the official Battlefield Comms channel, the mode aims to offer players a more accessible and less competitive experience while maintaining the series’ hallmark large-scale combat and progression systems.
The introduction of Casual Breakthrough addresses a community request for a mode that allows players to enjoy Battlefield’s expansive warfare without the pressure of facing only human opponents. It features a mix of real players and AI combatants, striking a balance between the thrill of dynamic engagements and a more forgiving battlefield environment. According to the announcement, Casual Breakthrough will feature smaller player teams, with 16 real players divided into two squads of eight. Each side will be supported by 32 AI-controlled teammates and enemies, creating a total of 48 combatants in every match.
Battlefield 6 is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC.
