NEXON has announced that The First Descendant will receive a crossover event with PlatinumGames’ Bayonetta, set to begin on November 6, 2025. The reveal took place during Tokyo Game Show 2025, accompanied by a new trailer showcasing the upcoming collaboration.
The trailer depicts the character Gley wielding The Last Dagger, a weapon skin modeled after Bayonetta’s Scarborough Fair firearms. The footage also pays homage to the series’ signature “Witch Time” mechanic, with sequences that slow enemy attacks to allow for precision counterstrikes.
As part of the collaboration, players will gain access to Bayonetta-themed cosmetics. These include a full-body skin inspired by the character’s design, weapon skins referencing both her heel-guns and handguns, as well as an exclusive makeup skin. Additional visual effects tied to spawning and despawning will also be included.
To mark the occasion, NEXON has scheduled a developer livestream on September 26 at 5:00 PM PT / 8:00 PM ET. The presentation will feature cosplay from Tokyo Game Show, a closer look at the collaboration content, and previews of upcoming updates. Among the highlights, the team will showcase a new melee weapon called the Sword, along with its modules and external components. A brief look at a new dungeon arriving in the October 1 update will also be part of the stream.
The First Descendant is a free-to-play cooperative looter-shooter available on multiple platforms. The addition of Bayonetta marks one of its most notable collaborations to date, drawing from a franchise that has become a major influence in the action genre since its debut in 2009.
