As per the insider, Black Myth Wukong will feature two graphics modes, likely to be Quality and Performance modes based on the resolution and frame rate that they target. In terms of image quality, the Quality mode runs at a native resolution of 4K (2160p). Meanwhile, as is often the case on current-gen consoles, the Performance mode runs at a native resolution of 1440p.

With regards to performance, the Quality mode in Black Myth Wukong targets a frame rate of 30 fps. On the other hand, the Performance mode, targets a frame rate of 60 fps. Going by the insider’s claim of the PS5 version being very optimized, one would expect to see both graphics modes meet their intended performance targets for the most part. Only actual performance metrics from the game’s final build will confirm whether that is indeed the case, however.

Previously, Daniel Ahmad, Director of Research and Insights at Niko Partners, had shared that demand for Black Myth: Wukong has been extremely high in China since pre-orders went live on June 7, 2024. He mentioned that the standard edition ranked #1 in the best seller charts on Steam in China based on revenue for the week ending June 11, 2024. According to him, the high amount of pre-orders in the country also led to it becoming the #1 best seller globally on Valve’s digital distribution platform.
