The preload size for Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Season 1 Reloaded is reportedly reaching 174 GB on Battle.net, according to information shared by MrDalekJD. The sizable download arrives ahead of the mid-season update, which is scheduled to go live this Thursday, January 8. While Activision has not issued a formal statement on the file size, the figure has already drawn attention due to its scale.
Season 1 Reloaded marks the first major content expansion for Black Ops 7 in the new year. The update is positioned as a substantial refresh, bringing new multiplayer content alongside additional features across several modes. For PC players using Battle.net, the reported preload size suggests that the update includes a wide range of assets rather than a narrowly focused patch.
Among the headline additions are three multiplayer maps. Yakei is a brand new location designed to support both standard 6v6 matches and smaller 2v2 engagements. Meltdown returns as a remastered map, updated for the current iteration of the game while retaining its original layout. Fringe, a familiar name for long-time fans, is also making its return as a 6v6 map, adding another legacy environment back into rotation.
Call of Duty Black Ops 7 launched on November 14, 2025, and serves as the eighth main entry in the Black Ops sub-series. The game functions as a direct sequel to both Black Ops II and Black Ops 6, continuing a timeline that extends into the year 2035. The campaign follows David Mason and Frank Woods as they pursue Raul Menendez, alongside a powerful tech conglomerate known as The Guild.
The title introduced several new features at launch, including an Endgame campaign mode that supports up to four players and an unusually large round-based Zombies experience. Black Ops 7 released across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC through both Battle.net and Steam, and it joined Game Pass Ultimate on day one.
Season 1 Reloaded is designed as a mid-season injection of content rather than a minor balance update. In addition to multiplayer maps, the update expands Zombies with new encounters and continues the Dark Aether storyline. It also introduces new weapons and a crossover event, contributing to the overall size of the patch.
