Blizzard Entertainment may have accidentally leaked the arrival of an eagerly anticipated character class for the next Diablo 4 expansion.
It’s not often that Blizzard Entertainment accidentally lets something slip through its own servers, but this time it seems we may have just got a major hint about a certain character class appearing in Diablo 4 in the future. According to findings reported by DiabloNext, a recent internal build for the game appears to confirm the arrival of the long-awaited Paladin class.

As seen in the screenshot above, the build in question is labeled 2.5.Xpaladin.67961. The naming convention leaves little room for ambiguity, as the word “Paladin” is directly embedded into the version title. For many players, the Paladin’s absence in the base game has been a sore point, especially given its history as one of the series’ most popular character classes. It is known for its melee combat, defensive auras, and holy magic.
While nothing has been officially announced, the version number attached to this build is rather indicative. The 2.5 designation aligns with what would be expected for a major seasonal update, likely corresponding to Season 11. This means that the addition of Paladin may be part of the next large-scale patch currently being tested by select content creators. However, it’s worth noting that any full expansion would typically bring the game’s version up to 3.0, suggesting that the Paladin class may first appear as part of an upcoming seasonal update instead of the next major expansion.
While we usually tell our readers to take rumors and leaks with a grain of salt until there is confirmation via official channels, this particular case is different, with the evidence coming directly from Blizzard. As such, it appears to be a matter of “when” rather than “if”.
Diablo 4 is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, GeForce Now, and Xbox Series X|S.
