Bloodborne & The Last Guardian Now Playable On Steam Deck Via Emulation

Sony Interactive Entertainment’s titles Bloodborne and The Last Guardian are now playable on the Steam Deck via emulation.

PS4 emulator ShadPS4 has made major progress over recent updates, and it is now able to run both Bloodborne and The Last Guardian on Steam Deck. While there are still some lingering graphical errors and missing visual effects, the games are, for the most part, playable on Valve’s handheld device.

Given how the AMD Zen 2 based Steam Deck CPU is considerably more powerful than the PS4’s Jaguar CPU, it’s not too surprising that the handheld is able to emulate the console’s titles. What’s really impressive, however, is the speed at which the ShadPS4 emulator has been progressing.

Neither of The Last Guardian and Bloodborne are currently able to maintain a stable 30 fps on the Steam Deck. Though, with the way things are progressing, it’s only a matter of time until both games run well and all graphical inaccuracies are also ironed out.

FromSoftware fans on PC have been asking for a port for years now. While this isn’t a PC version, it’s as close as it gets for now. Moreover, unlike on PlayStation, the game can now be played on the go, thanks to the Steam Deck.

As for those hellbent on holding out for a Bloodborne port or remaster, Twitter/X influencer and writer DanielRPK previously claimed to have heard about a new Bloodborne project that has been in development at Sony Interactive Entertainment, though he said that he wasn’t sure whether it is a sequel or a remaster. Earlier, streamer Kai Cenat streamed his playthrough of Bloodborne in order to convince Sony to work on a remaster or remake. The content creator said that the developers had watched his every move when it came to him playing these games, so the least he could do was try and push the narrative for something to happen. He called out both PlayStation and FromSoftware and pointed out that Bloodborne is one of the most highly requested games for a remaster and a PC port.
