Blumhouse Games and EYES OUT Release PC Demo for SLEEP AWAKE on Steam

Blumhouse Games and Los Angeles-based studio EYES OUT, co-founded by Cory Davis (Spec Ops: The Line) and Robin Finck (Nine Inch Nails), have released a new playable demo for their upcoming horror title SLEEP AWAKE. The demo is now available to download on Steam, offering players an early look at this surreal first-person experience.

Described as a psychedelic narrative horror, SLEEP AWAKE takes place in the last surviving city on Earth, where citizens desperately cling to consciousness to avoid “The Hush” — a mysterious phenomenon that causes people to vanish in their sleep. Players take on the role of Katja, navigating a crumbling reality while confronting death cults, solving puzzles, and uncovering dark truths in an effort to resist the pull of oblivion. The game blends traditional gameplay with full-motion video sequences and striking visual design to create a haunting sense of disorientation between waking life and nightmares.

Featuring stealth, survival, and chase sequences, SLEEP AWAKE challenges players to survive in a distorted world where sleep is the ultimate enemy. Its unsettling atmosphere is amplified by an experimental soundtrack from Finck, whose work with Nine Inch Nails is known for its abrasive and hypnotic qualities.

The demo highlights some of the key features awaiting players in the full release, including symbolic environments, puzzle-solving, and enemy encounters. It also offers a glimpse into the game’s deeply thematic narrative, where Katja struggles with loss and grief against the backdrop of a city ravaged by disaster.

Sleep Awake requires a 64-bit system and at least 16 GB of RAM to run, with the developers recommending modern hardware for an optimal experience. A release window for the full game has not yet been announced.
