Gearbox has announced that Story Pack 1 for Borderlands 4, titled Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned, is scheduled to launch in March, while Bounty Pack 2: Legend of the Stone Demon arrives earlier on February 26.
The studio confirmed that players can now wishlist Story Pack 1 on Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox. Wishlisting will allow players to receive updates as more information about the expansion is revealed in the coming weeks.
Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned will introduce a brand-new region on the planet Kairos, along with new story missions and the first post-launch Vault Hunter for Borderlands 4, a character named C4SH. Gearbox previously outlined additional context for the expansion in its recently published 2026 roadmap.
Bounty Pack 2: Legend of the Stone Demon will launch alongside a major update for the base game that adds Pearlescent gear, a new rarity tier that surpasses even Legendary items in power. The Pearlescent rarity will be available to all Borderlands 4 players regardless of edition, though certain Pearlescent items will be exclusive to Bounty Pack 2.
Legend of the Stone Demon is the second of five planned post-launch Bounty Packs for Borderlands 4. It is included with the Borderlands 4 Deluxe Edition, Super Deluxe Edition, and the Bounty Pack Bundle, and will also be sold separately. Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned is the first of two planned Story Packs and is included with the Super Deluxe Edition and the Vault Hunter Pack, with a standalone purchase option also available.
Gearbox says more details about both expansions will be shared as their respective release windows approach.
