Borderlands 4 Update Adds Weekly Activities, Console FOV Slider, and Major Fixes

Gearbox Software has rolled out a new update for Borderlands 4, released on September 25, 2025. The patch introduces fresh Weekly Activities, stability and performance improvements, progression adjustments, and refinements to visuals, audio, and UI. Notably, the update adds a Field of View (FOV) slider option on consoles, a highly requested feature among players.

Alongside the gameplay improvements, the patch brings balance changes to Vault Hunters, fixes to gear functionality, mission adjustments, and an overall smoother experience across platforms. With these updates, Gearbox continues to refine the looter shooter to ensure long-term support and stability for players.

Weekly Activities

  • Weekly Big Encore Boss rotated to a tougher variant with a better loot pool.
  • Weekly Wildcard Mission updated with a guaranteed Legendary drop.
  • Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine moved to a new location with refreshed offerings.

Stability & Performance

  • Fixed instances of hitching, FPS drops, crashes, infinite loading screens, and black screens on Xbox.
  • Improved character animations and menu loading.
  • Enhanced overall stability across platforms.

Rewards & Progression

  • Fixed issues with Skill Points in multiplayer.
  • Improved spawn consistency of Contract target enemies.
  • Updated Repkit lifesteal challenge and region discovery trophies.
  • Prevented unowned DLC content from appearing in-game.
  • Fixed Reward Center bugs and cosmetic redemption issues.
  • Adjusted challenge timing for UVH progression.

Vault Hunter Changes

  • Harlowe the Gravitar: fixed multiple skill and passive bugs.
  • Amon the Forgeknight: improved passive restoration, action skill behavior, and weapon targeting.
  • Vex the Siren: corrected augments, damage scaling, and companion damage consistency.
  • Rafa the Exo-Soldier: fixed stacking issues with Blowout passive.

Gameplay

  • Fixed mission-related bugs, including “Overwriting a Wrong,” “Talk to Zadra,” and others.
  • Improved hit detection, Repkit charges, enemy behavior, and multiplayer sync.
  • Updated fast travel unlock timing for Zadra’s Lab.

Gear

  • Fixed targeting, projectile issues, reload bugs, and ammo desyncs.
  • Balance changes:
    • Hellwalker now always spawns with Fire element.
    • Tediore weapons +10% damage and magazine size.
    • Order Pistols and Snipers buffed.

UI & UX

  • Improved gear thumbnails, menu clarity, inventory handling, and navigation support.
  • Fixed matchmaking menu hints and compass display errors.
  • Added localization and text updates.

Visuals

  • Fixed disappearing objects, VFX bugs, clipping, and animation concerns.
  • Improved NPC pathing, environmental effects, and ambient critter spawns.

Audio

  • Adjusted radio mix, fixed missing weapon and mission audio, reduced VO cutouts.

Settings & Accessibility

  • Console FOV slider added (may impact performance).
  • Vehicle FOV adjustments now synced in splitscreen.

Miscellaneous

  • Fixed character menu/lobby errors.
  • Added controller haptic feedback and SHiFT UI improvements.
  • Updated Credits.

Borderlands 4 is a 2025 action role-playing looter shooter developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K. Released on September 12, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S, the game is scheduled to launch later for Nintendo Switch 2.
