Bungie Shares Marathon Global Launch Times and Day One FAQ

by Greg Martin

Bungie has released the official launch timing and a detailed FAQ for Marathon ahead of the game’s worldwide debut. The studio confirmed that servers for the extraction shooter will go live globally on March 5 at 10 AM PT across all platforms.

The developer shared the announcement through its official Marathon social media account while also releasing the game’s launch cinematic trailer. The trailer features original music written by Ryan Lott and Son Lux, with vocals and lyrics performed by Poppy.

According to Bungie, Marathon will launch simultaneously worldwide on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PC via Steam. The confirmed launch times for several regions are listed below.

  • Los Angeles – 10:00 AM PDT on March 5
  • New York – 1:00 PM EDT on March 5
  • Rio de Janeiro – 3:00 PM BRT on March 5
  • London – 6:00 PM GMT on March 5
  • Berlin – 7:00 PM CET on March 5
  • Seoul – 3:00 AM KST on March 6
  • Tokyo – 3:00 AM JST on March 6
  • Sydney – 5:00 AM AEDT on March 6

Bungie also confirmed that players can pre-load the game ahead of launch on all supported platforms. However, those who participated in the earlier Server Slam test will need to download the launch build again, as it differs from the test version.

The launch version of Marathon includes the full progression system along with several gameplay features and content additions compared to the Server Slam build. At launch, players will have access to six factions, six Runner shells, including Thief, and three playable zones.

The game will also feature 28 weapons alongside various customization systems, including mods, implants, and cores. Players can earn cosmetics, achievements, and additional story details through the in-game Codex system.

One of the zones, Outpost, will not be available immediately when servers go live. Bungie confirmed that the area will unlock the day after launch once players reach Runner Level 12, allowing the community time to prepare before entering one of the more dangerous locations.

Additional features are scheduled to arrive later in March. Ranked mode is planned for release during the second half of the month, while the Cryo Archive area will become accessible after players unlock the path into orbit.

Players who earned rewards during the Server Slam event will receive their cosmetics and Arrival Caches during the first day after launch. Bungie noted that distribution may take some time, so rewards might not appear immediately in players’ in-game mailboxes.

The studio also confirmed that Twitch Drops will be available during the launch window from March 5 at 10 AM PT through March 9 at 10 AM PT. Rewards include cosmetic items such as weapon stickers, profile cosmetics, and a weapon skin earned by watching Marathon streams on Twitch.

Marathon launches March 5 and supports full cross-play and cross-save across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PC.
