Call of Duty Black Ops 6 PS5 vs Xbox Series X|S vs PC Comparison

The multiplayer beta for Activision and Treyarch’s upcoming first-person shooter, Call of Duty Black Ops 6, is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and if you’re on the fence about which version to pick up at launch, read ahead.

The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version offers 2 display modes, namely 60 Hz and 120 Hz. They are largely identical in terms of graphical settings. Meanwhile, the PC version of Call of Duty Black Ops 6 offers higher graphical options compared to those available on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles.

In terms of image quality, the PS5 and Xbox Series X run Call of Duty Black Ops 6 at a dynamic resolution in the 60 Hz mode that has an upper limit of 4K (2160p). In the 120 Hz mode, both consoles still run the game at a dynamic resolution, with the upper limit dropped to 1440p. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S runs the game at a dynamic resolution, with the upper limit being 1440p in the 60 Hz mode and 1080p in the 120 Hz mode. On the other hand, it’s possible to run the game at native 4K  on capable PC hardware.

With regards to performance, the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Call of Duty Black Ops 6 target a frame rate of 60 fps in the 60 Hz mode and 120 fps in the 120 Hz mode. All consoles do a reasonably good job of meeting their target in either mode. There are some drops seen in the 120 Hz mode that can result in some judder. However, this can be smoothed out on a VRR supported display.

All in all, all versions of Call of Duty Black Ops 6 deliver a solid experience, and your preference comes down to your platform and input device of choice.
