Activision seems to have inadvertently revealed new details about Call of Duty Black Ops 7 after an advertisement for the game went live earlier than expected. The short clip has quickly made the rounds online, sparking immediate discussion among fans about possible features returning to the series.
The initial reaction centered on speculation that jetpacks were making a comeback. However, this assumption was quickly corrected by well-known Call of Duty insider TheGhostOfHope, who clarified that the footage instead showed a Mega Jump upgrade tied to the campaign. “Guys it’s not jetpacks lol it’s a mega jump upgrade from the campaign. Just wait and see tomorrow,” the insider explained on social media.
ModernWarzone also weighed in, urging players not to overreact to the ad. The outlet suggested that while the footage looked dramatic, the context would make the new mechanic appear less extreme than some fans initially believed. Their statement echoed Hope’s clarification, reinforcing that jetpacks will not return in the way players might expect.
In addition to the mobility feature, the leak also confirmed the reappearance of the Peacekeeper, a weapon that has been featured in past Call of Duty entries.
The ad was first shared by a user on social media who received an unexpected notification, suggesting the material was published prematurely. While quickly removed, it was long enough to circulate through the Call of Duty community.
Black Ops 7, co-developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, is the twenty-second mainline entry in the Call of Duty franchise and the eighth in the Black Ops sub-series. Set in 2035, the campaign follows David Mason and his team of agents in the aftermath of Black Ops II. In addition to the story, the game will include competitive multiplayer and the series’ trademark Zombies mode. It is scheduled to launch in 2025 across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms.
As the official reveal is expected soon, fans will not have to wait long to learn the full context of the features teased in this latest leak.
