Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 Beta Is Struggling With Cheaters On Day One, Anti-Cheat Taking Action Against Them

by Muhammad Ali Bari

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Beta is now underway, and it’s already struggling with cheaters from day one. The game’s anti-cheat is taking action against them, however.

Despite Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 including major upgrades to its Ricochet anti-cheat system, early reports show that some cheaters are slipping through. That said, Ricochet does appear to be responding fairly quickly. A key part of these defenses is the requirement for TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot to be enabled on PC. These technologies work with Ricochet to block cheats at multiple levels of the system, making it more difficult for malicious software to run in the background. To even participate in the beta, and later the final release, PC players are required to have both enabled.

Reports of Day One Cheaters In Black Ops 7

One of the earliest flagged incidents came from Twitter/X user Nicari, who showed video footage of a cheater in action. They mentioned encountering as many as 3 cheaters during their day one multiplayer session.

Twitter/X user LoochyTV also shared a video of them encountering a cheater during their day one early access session.

Similarly, Twitter/X user Yama_xyz_ shared a video of a cheater bypassing the game’s anti-cheat system.

Another video surfaced from Twitter/X user ItsHapa, who criticized the Ricochet anti-cheat team’s claim of “keeping banned players gone” with the aid of PM2.0 and Secure Boot.

Ricochet Strikes Back

Activision’s Ricochet anti-cheat team has stressed that the beta is a testing ground for catching cheaters in real time. It’s not only monitoring but also taking visible action, as evident from its series of responses to Twitter/X posts that showed evidence of cheaters finding their way into multiplayer sessions. The team confirmed that the Acitivision accounts in question have been caught and permanently banned.
