Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Beta Comparison Across PC, PS5, PS5 Pro & Xbox Series Consoles

The Open Beta for Activision and Treyarch’s upcoming first-person shooter, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, is currently underway on PC, PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S, and if you’re wondering how the different versions compare on the technical front, read ahead.

The game offers 2 graphics modes on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S i.e. 60 Hz and 120 Hz. In terms of graphical settings, the 120 Hz mode decreases level of detail, shadow quality, and reflections on all consoles. Meanwhile, the PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 can deliver higher graphical settings than PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X.

In terms of image quality, PS5 and Xbox Series X run Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 at a dynamic resolution that caps out at 1440p and is then upscaled to 2160p in the 60 Hz mode and a dynamic resolution that caps out at 1080p and is then upscaled to 2160p in the 120 Hz mode. The PS5 Pro version runs at a dynamic resolution that caps out at 1440p and is then upscaled to 2160p in both 60 and 120 Hz modes, possibly using PSSR. On the other hand, the PC version can run at a native resolution of 4K (2160p) on capable systems, and it also supports NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR for image reconstruction.

With regards to performance, as the names imply, the PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X versions of Assassin’s Creed Shadows target a frame rate of 60 fps in the 60 Hz mode and 120 fps in the 120 Hz mode. The PS5 Pro does a better job of maintaining its target in the 120 Hz mode compared to the other consoles. Meanwhile, the PC version can run at frame rates above 120 fps on capable systems.

All in all, the PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 offers the best possible experience in terms of graphics and performance, while PS5 Pro is the best place to play on consoles.
